BIOGRAPHY
Zada Britton, a Canadian-born actor, dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker, has showcased her artistic talents from a young age. Zada’s greatest joy is incorporating her passion for dancing with her love for acting. Her dance performances are evident in films such as "13: The Musical" on Netflix, choreographed by Jamal Sims, "Feel The Beat" on Netflix, choreographed by Mia Michaels, and "The Parker Andersons/Amelia Parker" TV series, aired on BYU TV and SuperChannel, choreographed by Nick Maiorano.
Zada displayed her love for dance before she could walk. Through musical expression, it was clear that she had a passion for dance, and at the age of 2 ½, she was enrolled in her first ballet class. Since then, her talent has blossomed, and she displayed exceptional versatility and musicality in a variety of styles in which she has excelled such as jazz, tap, hiphop/street style, contemporary, modern, ballet, pointe, and acrobatics. Her dedication and hard work have been recognized through numerous awards and scholarships. Recently, in recognition of her talents, work ethic, and potential, Kurt Douglas, Artistic Director of the prestigious Berklee’s Boston Conservatory, awarded Zada the first-ever full scholarship presented to a Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre dancer for the Boston Conservatory’s Summer Intensive. Additionally, she received the Claude Watson Arts Award of distinction for her exceptional artistry, talents, leadership, and creativity in all aspects of the arts program.
Throughout her artistic journey, Zada has honed her dance skills through training with choreographers such as Stacey Tookey’s Protégé Movement and Francisco Gella’s ballet intensive: Aria. Currently, she tours across Ontario as a pre-professional company dancer with the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre.
Zada’s choreographic repertoire includes contemporary, jazz funk, and jazz-contemporary fusion styles, featured in various group ensembles for stage productions, including “Dance Night”, “Dance Collective”, and performances with the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre. She enjoys setting pieces on dancers as another form of creative movement and expression. Zada takes a collaborative approach to setting choreography, evident in her roles as co-choreographer and assistant choreographer in many stage productions.
As a filmmaker, Zada has directed, produced, and edited numerous short films for social media, advertising, print, and short film projects. She continues to enhance her acting skills through training with the LeBlanc School of Acting and Armstrong Acting, while also being a member of ACTRA. Zada made her acting debut in the TV series “Fear Thy Neighbour: Boiling Point” and has been featured as a rising star in newspapers such as the Toronto Star and TV interviews, such as Breakfast Television on CityTV.
Giving back to the community and supporting fellow artists in achieving their goals is important to Zada. She is proud to have been selected as a member of the Youth Board of Dance Ontario. As a board member, Zada advocates for dancers across Ontario and Canada and helps to promote all facets of dance.
Zada remains dedicated to her growth and learning as an artist, dancer, actor, and performer. Inspired by those who have paved the way for aspiring creatives like herself, she looks forward to the day when she is an inspiration to other artists and creators worldwide.

Zada Britton remembers what it felt like to be 13 which is good because she is in a movie coming to Netflix Friday called 13: The Musical.
“I do relate to some of the story of the movie — making new friends and not knowing many people,” the
15-year-old Richmond Hill resident said.
In the movie, the main character moves from New York City to Indiana. The 12-year-old has to navigate his
parents’ divorce, his impending bar mitzvah and his new school’s social circles.
Britton said she is “very very excited” about the movie being released on Netflix Aug. 12.
The movie has “a happy feeling but there’s drama between some kids,” she said.
The filming of 13: The Musical took place in New York City, Toronto, King City and Beeton, Ont.
The best part of filming the movie was making new friends and the worst part was that it came to an end,
Britton said.
